One of the best things about security and hacking conventions is the people you meet and the spontaneous conversations that spark creative ideas. While attending BSidesLV, I struck up a conversation with a few folks about laptops and our favorite Linux distros. It was classic hallway-con talk—nerdy, passionate, and totally unplanned.

During our chat, my new friend Jack pulled out his laptop, and that’s when I spotted it—a Jollibee sticker proudly stuck on the lid. For those unfamiliar, Jollibee is a beloved Filipino fast food chain known for its unique take on comfort food. One of its most iconic meals is the Chickenjoy: crispy fried chicken served with rice, gravy, spaghetti, corn, or fries.

We started trading stories and swapping sticker ideas, and I brought up this cool Labubu-themed one I’d seen recently. That opened the door to some fun brainstorming. What if we mashed hacker culture with Filipino food culture? What if, instead of “Chickenjoy,” it was “Hackerjoy”—served up with a side of 0-days?

That simple moment—some stickers, a little nostalgia, and a healthy dose of nerd energy—sparked the idea for the design. The vibe clicked immediately: playful, rebellious, and proudly rooted in both tech and culture. And that’s how the concept for the “H4X0RJ0Y” sticker was born.

I eventually left the table to attend my multi-cloud security course (writeup on its way), I couldn’t stop thinking about the HackerJoy sticker. I knew I had to do something.

During lunch I decided to whip up ChatGPT and “Vibe Design” the sticker:

help me create a sticker focused around hacker culture like defcon. the main character should be the jollibee mascot and should be easy to print

First image was really good:

I them prompted it to add:

Hackerjoy with a side of 0 days

I thought it would be easier to print out a 3×3 design, so I asked it to re-do the design but I guess it started to what you call “hallucinate” (or just straight up confused)?

I started a new chat with ChatGPT 4o with the following new prompt and the result was even better:

help me create a sticker focused around hacker culture like defcon. the main character should be the jollibee mascot and should be easy to print It should have the tag line “hax0rjoy and a side of 0 days” It needs to be 4×4 square

I thought the tagline “And a side of 0 days” was a bit odd, so I rephrased it and I was happy:

I found a local printer, lasvegascustomprinting.com and got my stickers within 24 hours!

Here is Jack’s laptop, with the original Jollibee sticker that started it all, next to my H4X0RJ0Y

Stickers are like currency in Defcon. I was able to trade these since it was a limited run of 200 to some other creators. Met some interesting people and was a great ice breaker to get conversations going. 100% doing this again next year and maybe i’ll make my own SAO after being inspired by this:

I saw this on the r/Defcon subreddit and ran into the creator in the hallways. We traded sticker for the SAO and he said he VibeCoded the entire SAO.

And also apparently I’ve inspired Jack and his friend Gnarizard to also create stickers:

And of course here is my own rendition below. I went with my gamer handle “Pidgey Adobo” and also Vibe Designed the card. Not bad ChatGPT, not bad.

Existing chat I had was to create the SuperMaru image in the About page. Prompt below:

I have the gamer handle “PidgeyAdobo”, which combines pokemon and the Filipino dish Adobo. I want to make my own pokemon card style business card. Can you put that character in a pidgey hoodie hacking on a laptop?

I might just have to add my linkedin and/or website and treat this as my business card!
